Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank has strengthened its presence on the board of Nigeria’s leading Islamic bank Jaiz Bank Plc (JAIZBANK:NG) with the appointment of a representative director of the IsDB to the Jaiz board. The representative – Seedy Mohammed Njie is a Gambian national, accountant as well as risk management specialist who has been with IsDB for over a decade. The Islamic Development Bank is an Islamic finance institution owned by 57 countries with significant Muslim populations and owns a significant stake in the Nigerian Islamic finance institution.
The announcement was made Jaiz Bank Plc on the 16th of March 2020. The bank in the same vein announced the appointment of a Alhaji Mamun Ibrahim Maude, as a director on the board of the bank. Maude is an associate of Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, the Borno businessman who is the Chairman of Oriental Energy Resources. Indimi is a founding shareholder of Jaiz Bank Plc.
