Modupe Mujota commenced her sojourn in the Public Service in October 2015 when she was appointed by the former Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON, FCA. Her passionate belief in and commitment to the Nigerian project, particularly the utilization of core technocratic solutions and private sector competencies to add value in the public sector, have galvanized the latent talent in the Ministry with resounding acclaim within and outside Ogun State. She was, until her appointment, the Managing Director at United Capital Asset Management Limited (formerly UBA Asset Management Limited), a leading firm in fund management in Nigeria with responsibility for its portfolio of investments, crafting and implementing a growth strategy for the firm and coordinating its market share acquisition. She has provided leadership for other well-known brands in the investment management sub-sector in Nigeria as Managing Director of both Kakawa Asset Management Limited and BGL Asset Management Limited. During a distinguished career that has spanned over 20 years, she has held leadership and senior management roles in various areas in the Financial Services Industry including Commercial Banking, Asset Management, Corporate Finance and Risk Management. In her last two assignments she garnered significant Corporate Governance experience sitting on the Board of both investment management companies.
She was instrumental in the development and establishment of Corporate Governance practices in BGL Asset Management Limited and also guided the return to profitability of Kakawa Asset Management Limited during her tenor, culminating in the successful sale of the firm. Modupe combines her wealth of technical experience in structuring and implementing financial investments with strong oversight skills in Project Management, Business Process Innovation, Turnaround Management and Organisational Transformation. Modupe has contributed to the development of the Nigerian financial markets as a resource person on the Capital Market Committees covering Literacy/Investor Confidence and Investment Management. She also served as an Executive Committee member of the Fund Managers Association of Nigeria (FMAN) and her opinion is widely sought by the media. Her interests include the strengthening of family life through women empowerment and leveling the playing field in child development and education.
